The Bostitch 6 gallon compressor is small and portable, but not necessarily compact. It weighs 43 and 1/2 lbs. So you can move it from room to room, but it’s not really light.

It’s corded electric so there are no heavy batteries, though, which is a plus. At 150 PSI it is capable of driving 18 gauge brad nails, 16 gauge nails, and heavy-duty crown staples.

Air hose is 15’ 1/4“ x 25'. The PVC air hose has fittings, which allow great flexibility.

The compressor has a high-efficiency motor with an oil-free pump for long life, and its maintenance is free!  It takes between 2-1/2 to 5 minutes for pressure to build up.

This unit works great. The nailers are smooth and powerful, and it has a long run time with a short recovery. The stapler works great also. This tool makes work fun! You can find all kinds of uses for it to make repairs inside and outside the house, which might have been neglected for years because you never had a portable compressor. It’s ideal for crafts and for small to medium-sized building projects as well as finishing and trimming projects.

You can also use it to air stuff up! You can air up your vehicle tires, and bicycle tires as well as all those inflatable toys you take for the kids when you go to the lake or the beach. It’s great for inflating air mattresses too. Just plug it in and watch it quickly inflate!  And you can use the stapler for an upholstery project you may have been putting off.

It is a bit loud, but all air compressors are. This one operates at 78.5 dBA. You should always wear earplugs while working with these loud compressors. The unit has rubber feet to handle vibration.

It’s recommended you buy Bostitch accessories (nails, brads, etc).

Verdict: We recommend this Bostitch 6 gallon compressor to anyone who has a use for a portable electric air compressor. It’s fast to set up out of the box and can handle finishing projects for cabinets, furniture, etc.

It should last a long time and it’s very convenient to own.

  • 6-gallon compressor with a long hose
  • The PVC air-hose for better flexibility
  • A highly efficient motor
  • Portable and effective air tool
  • An oil-free multipurpose compressor

Cons:

This portable air compressor weighs only 4-1/2 lbs, so it really is a compact model, perfect for a quick grab and go jobs, or to carry in your vehicle.

This model has alligator clamps, which connect directly to the battery of your vehicle for power. Your motor should be running when you use it. It has a 16 ft air hose and a 10 ft power cord.

Because of its compact size and portability, this Viair Air Compressor is ideal for inflating tires up to 33”, which includes ATV’s, sedans, SUV’s and trucks.

It can also be used to inflate air mattresses and inflatable floats for the pool, as well as bicycle and motorcycle tires.

It is a great tool to perform regular maintenance on your vehicle’s tires.

It is recommended that you should check air pressure once a month. You get better mileage with properly inflated tires, and they wear fairly even if they carry the same pressure.

We liked the way the silver and black Viair compressor looked. The design is sharp and incorporates a handle to make it easy to carry. The components are well made, for example, the brass fitting, which connects to the valve stem, is solid. The alligator clips make good contact with the battery, and they are also well made. They aren’t flimsy and cheap. The cords look good too.

It’s fast for a portable. It won’t take more than 2 minutes to inflate a standard tire from very low to full, and it doesn’t have to stop to build pressure.

There is a gauge located on top of the unit, which can be used to monitor the tire pressure during inflation; however, you have to switch it off momentarily to check it.

Verdict: Ideal for tire maintenance, and it does everything it needs to do. It comprises with a nice design producing no loud sounds and has a low vibration. It should last a long time.

Pros:

  • Portable, compact & lightweight
  • The alligator clamps
  • Versatile usage
  • Lasts long

Cons:

  • Not a fast compressor
  • No separated power cord & hose and connected to the battery
